    Biography

    Dr. Richards was originally hired as a medical provider at Aviva Health and has since been promoted to Chief Medical Officer.

    During his tenure at Aviva Health, Dr. Richards has demonstrated clinical and quality competence as well as excellent leadership skills for the clinical staff. Dr. Richards was on the Dean’s list at Western University of Health Sciences where he received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine.

    He completed his family medicine residency at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC. He served as a staff physician at Connor Troop Medical Clinic at Ft. Drum, NY, and then served his country as a battalion surgeon in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. He earned the Bronze Star in Operation Enduring Freedom 2011 and an Army Commendation Medal from Womack Army Medical Center in 2010.

    Dr. Richards’ education and experiences allow him to be an excellent resource to our patients and Douglas County where we honor and treat many veterans.
